Inspiration behind Koni Hawaiian...
It's late afternoon and I hear the waves lightly rolling onto the shore.
The sun is casting its shadow on the native palms, then a small breeze
wisps by my shoulder as if to take away the cares of the world. Then the
sky unfolds before me declaring the awesome sunset in Hawai'i. Within
moments I am sitting in the sand, watching and waiting with
anticipation, absorbing the spectacular view in 360.
Aware of my surroundings, only as if a faded picture, the sunset takes
front and center. It’s lowering majestically into the indigo sea,
painting an indelible picture. My sense of smell was heightened due to
the fact that my sight senses were diminishing by the sun setting. The
sand, sea, flowers and island fruits slowly became more noticeable
aromatically... and out of those experiences, Koni Hawaiian was
conceived.
Koni Hawaiian’s handcrafted whipped coconut Shea butter creams (great
for post-sun skin) and tropical aromatherapy sprays help welcome the the
seasons in comfort. Koni Hawaiian started in early 2009. I have created
products with my very own distinctive style, from what nature has
provided. The business brings together my many passions and experiences:
my love of Hawaii, where I have visited since 1985, when it became a part
of my soul; my respect and admiration of the Polynesian culture; my
years as a massage therapist, where I learned the benefit of
aromatherapy; and my desire to protect and nourish my skin. I love all the products. The Shea butter creams and Big Kahuna have been
great for sunburn relief, and they’re popular among my surfer friends,
as well for treating surfer’s rash and most
other skin irritations. The Big Kahuna can take care of almost any rash!
All the products are created with passion and a purpose. With twelve
years as a web and graphics designer, I designed all product labels and
print media. Koni Hawaiian products have been inspired
by friends and family or places visited. Koni
